Felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime
On July 28 at about 6:43 p.m., police performed a traffic stop in an alleyway between the 600 blocks of Duluth and Knight avenues north. Travis Wayne Strelow, 36, Thief River Falls, has been charged with felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime. He was arrested. According to the complaint, Strelow allegedly possessed one gram of methamphetamine. He told a police officer that he had picked up the baggie of meth, which belonged to two other men who had gone to his garage to look at the motorcycle.
On July 28 at 10:40 a.m., police received a report of an accident in the Wells Fargo parking lot. At the time of the accident, Harlan Halvorson of Thief River Falls was driving a 2008 Chevy. He was planning to park in the parking lot when his vehicle jumped the curb and hit the building. No injuries were reported. It was unclear if the building sustained damage.
On July 25 at 10:03 a.m., police received a report of a theft on First Street West. Someone had stolen a pallet of corner bricks from a job site.
On July 26 at 6:42 p.m., the sheriff’s office received a report of a theft at 18382 139th St. N.E. Someone had stolen a green electric Schwinn scooter.
On July 27 at 7:50 a.m., police received a report of an accident at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Eighth Street. At the time of the accident, Shae P. Olson of Thief River Falls was driving a 2011 Chevy southbound on Atlantic Avenue. According to the report, she didn’t completely stop and her vehicle collided with a 2013 Ford driven by Abigail F. Rachel of Thief River Falls. Rachel was traveling eastbound on Eighth Street at the time. No injuries were reported.
On July 27 at 5:41 p.m., police received a report of theft outside of 1001 Dewey Ave. N. Someone had stolen numerous DeWalt tools out of a parked trailer.
Driving while impaired
On July 29 at 6:32 p.m., police performed a traffic stop near the intersection of Sixth Street and Horace Avenue. Todd Richard Hoglo, 56, Thief River Falls, has been charged with DWI. He was arrested.
On July 29 at 7:54 p.m., police received a report of property damage at 405 Duluth Ave. S. Someone had damaged a door to the point of opening it.
On July 30 at 12:28 p.m., the sheriff’s office received a report of theft near the intersection of 190th Street Northeast and 150th Avenue Northeast. Someone had stolen a 220-amp Plenum heater, a log chain, and a weed eater.
