Felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime and fourth-degree driving while impaired – Schedule I or II substance
On June 12 at about 5:35 p.m., police received numerous calls that a woman was attempting to open doors at Northern State Bank, which was closed at the time. Paige Jean Parsons, 28, Thief River Falls, has been charged with felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime and fourth-degree DWI – Schedule I or II substance. She was arrested. Upon arriving at the scene, a police officer encountered Parsons, who allegedly appeared to be manic. She was unable to sit still and was pacing back and forth. Parsons was also having trouble controlling her movements, according to the complaint. She failed field sobriety tests. Parsons possessed a spoon containing about 0.49 grams of methamphetamine. The meth was sent to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for further analysis. Parsons also possessed a hypodermic needle, a syringe, and other drug paraphernalia. The complaint indicated that Parsons has two prior convictions for fifth-degree controlled substance crime.
Fifth-degree possession of drugs, driving after revocation, possession of a small amount of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia
On June 11 at 10:26 p.m., police performed a traffic stop in the 1800 block of Hwy. 59. Noah Tyrell Hawkins, 23, Thief River Falls, has charges pending for fifth-degree possession of drugs, driving after revocation, possession of a small amount of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The police report doesn’t list the type of drug or the amount.
Gross misdemeanor fifth-degree controlled substance crime – over 0.25 grams
On Feb. 11, a Pine to Prairie Drug Task Force officer was provided with a clear plastic baggie containing a blue crystal-like substance. The baggie had been obtained at Seven Clans Casino, Hotel, and Water Park five days earlier. Amy Jo Packer, 45, Harwood, N.D., has been charged with gross misdemeanor fifth-degree controlled substance crime – over 0.25 grams. The complaint was signed on June 13. Packer allegedly dropped the baggie after playing a slot machine at the casino. The complaint further indicated that Packer was excluded from the casino. The BCA later tested the substance, finding it contained the presence of meth and weighed 0.906 grams.
Financial transaction card fraud
On May 22 at about 1:20 p.m., the sheriff’s office received a report of financial transaction card fraud. Shane Curtis Dahlstrom, 46, Grand Forks, N.D., has been charged with financial transaction card fraud. The complaint was signed on June 1. According to the complaint, he allegedly stole a bag containing a wallet out of a vehicle outside of 24996 180th St. N.E., Goodridge. A Citizen Bank Visa card was inside the wallet at the time. Dahlstrom charged $221.02 to the account. The largest amount was $115.26 at the C’mon Inn. Charges were also made at Walmart (two charges), Northdale Petro Pumper, and Cenex Travel Plaza (two charges). He was linked to the offense through video surveillance. Dahlstrom allegedly admitsto stealing the bag and using the credit card. He said he threw out the remaining property that had been inside the bag. Those items included some loose change, a folding knife, and a $10 roll of 50-cent pieces.
Driving while impaired
On June 7 at 11:31 p.m., police performed a traffic stop in the 1900 block of Hwy. 59 S. Peter Michael Keppler, 57, Pewaukee, Wis., has charges pending for DWI. He was arrested.
On June 8 at 8:37 a.m., police received a report of a burglary at 413 Duluth Ave. S. Someone had stolen a red Trek bike out of a garage.
Accident and illegal lane change
On June 9 at 11:44 a.m., police received a report of an accident at the intersection of Greenwood Street and Highway 32. At the time of the accident, Geran Gary Gonsorowski of Thief River Falls was driving a 2012 Chevy eastbound on Greenwood Street. According to the report, he changed lanes and his vehicle crashed into an east-bound 2017 Chevy driven by Alexa N. Anderson of Thief River Falls. Anderson was in the left-turn lane at the time. No injuries were reported. Gonsorowski has been cited for an illegal lane change.
On June 10 at 11:28 a.m., the sheriff’s office received a report of theft outside of 13173 140th Ave. S.E., St. Hilaire. Someone had stolen a number of roofing tools out of a trailer.
On June 11 at 12:45 a.m., police received a report of a disturbance in the 200 block of Third St. E. Gina Lee Benavidez, 41, Thief River Falls, and Santos Anthony Bower, 32, Crookston, have been cited for disorderly conduct. They allegedly argued and fought with one another.
Theft and trespassing
On June 11 at 4:10 p.m., police received a report of shoplifting at Walmart. Ricardo Martinez, 31, Thief River Falls, has been cited for theft and trespassing.
DWI and speeding
On June 12, police performed a traffic stop near the intersection of 150th Street and Highway 59. Izaak Tristen Keefe, 18, Thief River Falls, has been cited for DWI and speeding. He was arrested.
