Accident

On April 1 at 11:37 a.m., police received a report of an accident in the Walmart parking lot. At the time of the accident, Frances O. Skadsem of Thief River Falls was driving a 2012 Ford Taurus. She attempted to park in a parking spot. Surveillance video showed that Skadsem’s car then struck three parked vehicles before hitting a concrete post that disabled her car. The parked vehicles were a 1996 Chevy Blazer owned by Robert Flick of Thief River Falls, a 2013 Chevy Impala owned by Philip Rondorf of Thief River Falls, and a 2014 Chevy Traverse owned by Joan Gehrls of Karlstad. An ambulance transported Skadsem to Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls. She suffered unknown injuries.

Fifth-degree controlled substance crime, giving a false name to a peace officer, driving while impaired, and possession of drug paraphernalia

On March 31 at 6:40 p.m., police performed a traffic stop on Sixth Street East. Brianna Lynn Olson, 29, St. Hilaire, has charges pending for giving a false name to a peace officer, DWI, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of fifth-degree controlled substance crime. She was arrested. A motorist reported that another vehicle almost clipped the motorist’s vehicle a couple of times and then passed the motorist at a high speed. The incident occurred near the intersection of Highway 1 and Center Avenue North. An officer soon located the vehicle on Sixth Street East and allegedly observed as Olson’s vehicle crossed the centerline. Olson allegedly possessed marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia with methamphetamine residue.

Fifth-degree controlled substance crime, driving after revocation, and an open bottle

On March 30 at 7:12 p.m., police performed a traffic stop near the intersection of 150th Street and 137th Avenue. Ian Michael Lane, 22, Thief River Falls, has charges pending for fifth-degree controlled substance crime, driving after revocation, and open bottle. He allegedly possessed suspected meth. The report didn’t list the amount.

Possession of a small amount of marijuana

On March 27 at 11:10 p.m., police received a report of loud music coming from 1205 Stephen St. A 15-yearold Thief River Falls male has charges pending for possession of a small amount of marijuana. Upon arriving, police could allegedly smell marijuana emanating from the home.

Theft

On March 29 at 6:12 p.m., police received a report that two men had allegedly stolen a dog in the 800 block of Atlantic Ave. N. Kevin Scott Lerol, 38, Goodridge, has been cited for theft. At the time, a Thief River Falls woman was walking her dog. She reported that two men came up to her, saying the dog was theirs, and took her dog. The dog was later located and returned to the woman.

On April 2 at 4:10 p.m., police received a report of a theft in the Northland Village parking lot. Someone had stolen numerous DeWalt tools and other tools out of a vehicle.

On April 2 at 6:56 p.m., police received a report of a theft at Northland Village, 1516 Hwy. 1 E. Someone had stolen packages that had been delivered to an apartment door.

Fourth degree DWI and refusal to submit to a chemical test

On April 2 at 11:18 p.m., police performed a traffic stop near the intersection of Fourth Street and Knight Avenue. Christopher Todd Thompson, 24, Crookston, has been charged with fourth-degree DWI and refusal to submit to a chemical test. He was arrested.

Third degree DWI and driving after revocation

On April 3 at 8:23 p.m., police performed a traffic stop near the intersection of Third Street and Kendall Avenue. Brooke Ashley Gustafson, 24, Thief River Falls, has been charged with third-degree DWI and driving after revocation. She was arrested.

DWI and refusal to submit to a chemical test

On April 3 at 10:44 p.m., police performed a traffic stop near the intersection of Fourth Street and Main Avenue. Ryan Dane Limanen, 45, Thief River Falls, has been charged with DWI and refusal to submit to a chemical test. He was arrested.

Vandalism

On April 4 at 5:01 p.m., police observed that someone had painted on a city sign near the dam. If readers have any information about the above c
