Accident

On Nov. 18 at 12:05 p.m., the sheriff’s office received a report of an accident at the intersection of Center Street East and Highway 59 South. At the time of the accident, Shawn D. Rud of Thief River Falls was driving a 1999 Dodge Durango. According to the report, his vehicle rear-ended a semi. No injuries were reported. The report indicated that Rud told the semi driver to leave since the semi sustained no damage. He didn’t obtain the semi driver’s name.

Accident and second degree DWI

On Nov. 18 at 10:42 p.m., police received a report of an accident in the 100 block of Horace Ave. N. At the time of the accident, Candace Marie Ness of Middle River was driving a 2007 GMC Yukon. When officers arrived, the vehicle was flipped onto its side. No injuries were reported. Ness has charges pending for second degree DWI. She was arrested.

Theft

On Nov. 16 at 9:19 a.m., police received a report of a theft outside of 112 Jerome St. Someone had stolen a 2012 Carrie Craft trailer that features a license plate of ADGG350.

Accident

On Nov. 17 at 6:04 p.m., police received a report of an accident at the intersection of Highway 59 and First Street. At the time of the accident, Florian Stem of Thief River Falls was driving a 2019 Ford Edge on Highway 59 in the lane to travel straight. He then decided to turn south, colliding with a 2018 Chevy Cruze driven by Allyson J. Engelstad of Thief River Falls. Engelstad was in the turning lane at the time. No injuries were reported.

Accident and failure to yield

On Nov. 18 at 7:20 p.m., police received a report of an accident in the 1500 block of Hwy. 59 S. At the time of the accident, Shyanne Michelle Lerol of Thief River Falls was driving a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee. She stopped and waited to turn left onto Highway 59. Thinking her path was clear, Lerol drove onto Highway 59 and collided with a northbound 2012 Cadillac SRX driven by Deanne Janelle Pearson Olson of Thief River Falls. No injuries were reported. Lerol has been cited for failure to yield.

Vandalism

On Nov. 19 at 9:03 p.m., police received a report of vandalism near the intersection of Fourth Street and LaBree Avenue. Someone had slashed a tire and scratched a door on a vehicle belonging to a Warren man.

Accident and DWI

On Nov. 19 at 10:09 p.m., police received a report of an accident at the intersection of Greenwood Street and Pennington Avenue. At the time of the accident, Robert John Voight of Big Lake was driving a 2014 Ford Escape. He then crashed in the roundabout. Voight has been cited for DWI. He was arrested.

Gross misdemeanor fifth degree controlled substance crime and fourth degree driving while impaired

On Nov. 16 at 7:17 a.m., police received a report that it appeared a man was passed out in an idling van with the door ajar in the parking lot of Edgewood Apartments, 1236 Edgewood Dr. John Anthony Monreal, 30, Thief River Falls, has been charged with gross misdemeanor fifth degree controlled substance crime and two counts of fourth degree DWI. He was arrested. Police found Monreal sleeping and slouched down in his seat. He allegedly had slowed, slurred speech, and he was difficult to understand. The complaint alleged that Monreal admitted smoking methamphetamine Nov. 15 and taking Xanax on Nov. 13. He possessed a pipe commonly used to smoke meth and a prescription bottle containing six Xanax pills. The prescription bottle featured Monreal’s name, but it didn’t contain the right prescription.
