On the evening of 12/31/20, Red Lake County deputies were dispatched to a disturbance at a residence in Red Lake Falls. They discovered that Lane Allen Anderson (24) of Thief River Falls was intoxicated and disorderly. He was brought to the Sheriff’s Office to wait for a ride back to Thief River Falls. While waiting for the ride, he attempted to start a physical altercation with the deputies. Mr. Anderson was quickly subdued and was transported to the jail in Crookston. He was booked for misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Mr. Anderson appeared in Court in Crookston on 01/04/21 and plead guilty to the misdemeanor charge. He was released from custody later that day.
On 01/02/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary/theft, at a location in Gervais Township. That report is still under investigation.
On 01/02/21, a formal criminal complaint was filed, charging Adam Scott Newquist (26) of Dilworth of felony issuance of a dishonored check. The complaint alleges Mr. Newquist issued an NSF Check to Hardware Hank in Red Lake Falls, for an amount over $500 on 11/22/20. He will be summonsed to appear in Court in Red Lake Falls later in January.
On the afternoon of 01/04/21, 2 citations were issued for vehicles parked continuously on the public street for over 48 hours in the city of Red Lake Falls. The vehicles were in violation of a city ordinance and were impeding snow removal efforts.
On 01/06/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received two separate reports of single-vehicle crashes within Red Lake County. The first one occurred in the morning and it was a rollover, north of Oklee near CR. #5. The second report was on CR. #13, west of Red Lake Falls, and a mailbox was struck by a vehicle. Nobody was injured in either crash.
On the afternoon of 01/07/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a school bus stop arm violation, on CR. #1, east of Plummer. That report is still under investigation.
On the afternoon of 01/07/21, Gerald Lee Reierson (63) of Bemidji was cited for speeding on Hwy. #222 in the city of Oklee.
Shortly after midnight on 01/08/21, a Red Lake County deputy stopped a vehicle in the city of Oklee for failing to stop at a stop sign. The driver, Rebecca Lea Morris (54) of Oklee was cited for the stop sign violation, no valid driver’s license, and no proof of current motor vehicle insurance.
