Tragic Snowmobile Accident Claims Lives on Gull Lake, Brainerd, Minnesota

CASS COUNTY, MN (trfnews.i234.me) An 18-year old man from Mendota has died from injuries in a snowmobile crash on Gull Lake near Brainerd, Minnesota Friday night.
friday at 11 18 p.m the sheriff’s office received a report of a snowmobile crash with serious injuries on gull lake in the area of birch island deputies and first responders arrived and found an 1897 arctic cat snowmobile had been traveling on gull lake and crashed into the northwest side of the rocky and wooded shoreline of birch island the driver of the snowmobile a male age 18 of mendota minnesota was located near the crash scene cpr was initiated by a friend of the victim that was also riding in the area continued life-saving efforts were conducted on scene and the victim was transported via helicopter to saint cloud where he was pronounced deceased an autopsy is scheduled with the midwest medical examiner’s office and the investigation is continuing uh the name of the victim has not been released yet assisting on the scene where the crow wing county sheriff’s office pillager police pillager fire and rescue north memorial ambulance and air care the crash is the fourth serious snowmobile crash reported in cass county uh minnesota this month sheriff burst reminds all riders that to use extreme caution on trails and lakes especially in areas that you may not be familiar with remember that you should never ride alone dress for safety and survival slow down and stay to the right on the trail or ditch don’t drink alcohol and rise ride use caution when traveling on frozen waterways always respect private property and stay on the marked trail system i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
