Tragic Intersection: Beloved Band Teacher Dies in Car Crash

CARVER COUNTY, Minn (trfnews.i234.me) – A devastating car crash on Friday claimed the lives of a beloved former band teacher and his wife. Richard Hahn, 75, was stopped at an intersection with a stop sign only for east-west traffic when he attempted to cross into the path of a dump truck.

According to officials from the Carver County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred in Benton Township around 11:50am on Friday. Despite wearing his seatbelt, Hahn died at the scene. His wife and passenger, Jeanette, was rushed to hospital where she also succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the dump truck escaped unscathed from the crash. Everyone involved had been wearing their seatbelts, officials noted.

Richard Hahn’s legacy as a band director at Forest Lake High School will be remembered by many who knew him. He led the school’s marching band with distinction from 1980 to 2009 and built a community that loved music. His students cherished his guidance, mentorship, and friendship.
