Tragic Dog Attack in Walhalla: 3-Year-Old Undergoes Surgery, More Needed

WALHALLA, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – We have an update regarding a three-year-old girl who was attacked by a dog in Pembina County, North Dakota, on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred in the town of Walhalla. According to her aunt, Riley was playing with some children in her yard when they went across the alley to another house. The parents were not home at the time, having gone to the store, and the dog was loose in the house. The dog, a Pitbull-German Shepherd mix, attacked Riley, causing injuries to her face and arm.

Riley has undergone plastic surgery at a Fargo hospital and will need additional surgeries. The Pembina County Sheriff’s Department has taken custody of the dog. An account has been set up at Choice Financial Bank to help Riley’s mother, Brooklyn Belard, cover the expenses for the surgeries and numerous trips required for Riley’s treatment. We will continue to provide updates on this developing story.
