Tragedy on Long Lost Lake: Woman Drowns While Swimming After Pontoon

LONG LOST LAKE, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – On Monday morning, the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office released a report regarding a tragic drowning incident that occurred on Saturday. According to the news release, a husband and wife were swimming on Long Lost Lake, approximately 45 miles southwest of Bemidji, when their pontoon began drifting away from the area where they were swimming.

The husband reported that both he and his wife started swimming after the pontoon. However, during the pursuit, he looked back and found his wife face down in the water. He immediately yelled for help, and the woman was pulled from the water. Despite life-saving measures, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim has been identified as 70-year-old Cheryl Breitbach of Ponsford, MN.
