Tragedy in Pine County: Stop Sign Violation Kills Hinckley Man in Fiery Crash | trfnews.i234.me

Pine County, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) – A 63-year-old Hinckley man, Kameron Lee Ellis, tragically died Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 48 near Wildlife Road, after another driver allegedly failed to stop at a posted stop sign.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Cory Shawn Olson, 40, of Cambridge, drove a 1999 Ford F-150 into the intersection from Wildlife Road without stopping, colliding with Ellis’s 2021 Ford F-150 around 6 p.m. The impact sent both pickups into the southeast ditch.

Ellis, who was alone in his truck and wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene. Olson and two other passengers were transported to HCMC with non-life-threatening injuries, while a fourth passenger remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Authorities noted dry road conditions, and the crash remains under investigation, including whether impairment was a factor.
