MOORHEAD, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – On Wednesday morning, a tragic shooting occurred resulting in the death of Frankie Torres. Jamal Ahmed has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder with intent, a charge that could lead to a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison.
According to the criminal complaint, Moorhead police responded to a report of a gunshot victim at 9111 18th Street South. Upon arrival, officers found Frankie Torres with a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to Sanford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A key witness, a female acquaintance of Torres, revealed she had been sexually assaulted by a man she knew as “Nunu,” now identified as Jamal Ahmed. She stated that Torres and another individual arrived at the scene after she informed them of the assault. An altercation ensued, during which Torres allegedly assaulted Ahmed. The situation escalated when another individual approached and shot Torres in the head.
Witnesses provided a detailed description of the shooter, leading to Ahmed’s identification in a police lineup. He has since been charged with murder in connection with Torres’s death. The investigation continues as the community grapples with the shocking events.
