Thief River Falls, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – In a late-night encounter on March 27, around 8:43 p.m., authorities conducted a routine traffic stop at the junction of Highway 1 East and Sherwood Avenue. The stop resulted in the arrest of Kaylee Christine Kringen, 26, from Thief River Falls, on serious charges.
Kringen faces charges of third-degree DWI, second-degree DWI, and possession of cannabis in a motor vehicle. Initial reports from the scene suggest Kringen displayed jittery behavior and exaggerated movements upon interaction with law enforcement. Shockingly, when asked to identify herself, Kringen provided false information, claiming to be a woman 19 years her senior.
Further investigation revealed disturbing evidence within Kringen’s vehicle. Authorities allegedly discovered a bag containing used hypodermic needles, with one testing positive for methamphetamine. Additionally, a bag of marijuana was found in the vehicle, raising concerns about potential substance abuse.
Despite the gravity of the situation, Kringen initially cooperated with authorities, agreeing to provide a urine sample. However, she later refused to comply, complicating the legal proceedings. The complaint highlighted Kringen’s prior history of DWI offenses, with her license already revoked due to a previous controlled substance-related incident.
As the investigation unfolds, authorities emphasize the severity of the charges against Kringen and the importance of addressing impaired driving and substance abuse on Minnesota’s roads.
