BIG LAKE TWP (trfnews.i234.me) — A morning drive turned into a terrifying collision when a 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche carrying a father and his 4-year-old son crashed into a Case Tractor on eastbound Highway 10 at County Road 14 in Big Lake Township, Sherburne County.
The crash occurred on April 16, 2025, at 10:01 AM, under dry road conditions. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, both vehicles were traveling eastbound when the accident occurred.
Brian John Manick, 43, and his son, Carter Elliot Manick, 4, both from Blaine, MN, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to North Memorial Hospital. Thankfully, both were wearing seatbelts, and alcohol was not a factor.
The 2010 Case Tractor, driven by 44-year-old Mark Thomas Wingard of Elk River, was also involved. Wingard was not injured and required no hospitalization.
Emergency response included CentraCare Ambulance, the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office, and MnDOT.
