‘Milky Way’ Princess To Visit Roseau

ST. PAUL — Minnesota’s Princess Kay of the Milky Way, Karen Bracken of Verdi, will spend next week in Roseau County, according to the office of the American Dairy Association of Minnesota in St. Paul.

Princess Kay will be guest of honor and featured speaker at the meetings of five cooperative creameries in the county. Meetings are scheduled Monday, April 5, 1965, at Warroad, Tuesday at Wannaska, Wednesday at Roseau, Thursday at Greenbush, and Friday at Badger. Arrangements for her tour of the county creamery meetings were made by plant managers Emil Schultz of Warroad, Duane Torfin of Wannaska, Cliff Skime of Roseau, Wendel Swan of Greenbush, and Leonard Larson (before his death March 16) of Badger.

Accompanying Minnesota’s 11th state dairy princess will be N. T. Johnson of Bemidji, ADA area representative.

Princess Kay, as usual, will be a working guest of honor during her tour of Roseau County communities. She’ll visit schools, serving milk when her schedule permits, and take part in creamery meeting programs. The dairy princess also is scheduled to meet with Roseau County 4-H club leaders Monday at Roseau.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
