Tobacco Shop Shooting: Man Indicted on First-Degree Murder Charges

MINNEAPOLIS (trfnews.i234.me) – Maleek Jabril Conley was indicted on two counts of first-degree murder for his involvement in a shooting at a Minneapolis tobacco shop.

Conley, 26, had previously been charged with two counts of second-degree murder. The incident occurred on December 3rd, 2023, and resulted in the deaths of Jamartre Sanders and Bryson Haskell.

According to reports, an altercation between Conley and others escalated into a fistfight and then gunfire at Royal Cigar & Tobacco in Dinkytown.

Two other individuals were shot but survived. Surveillance video identified Conley as the gunman.

Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty stated that a grand jury indicted Conley on 13 charges related to the shooting, including first-degree premeditated murder and second-degree intentional murder.

Conley remains in custody at the Hennepin County jail.
