Neighbor Tip Leads to East Grand Forks Drug Bust

EAST GRAND FORKS, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A vigilant neighbor’s tip has resulted in a significant drug bust in East Grand Forks. Reports of suspicious activity originating from a garage on the 700 block of 1st Avenue Northeast prompted authorities to take action. On Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m., law enforcement responded to the tip, setting up surveillance on the location.

Their observations paid off when a vehicle was seen leaving the garage. A quick license plate check revealed that the owner was wanted for an outstanding warrant. The driver, Andrew Stenason of Park River, was apprehended next to Riverside Christian Middle School, a designated drug-free zone. Accompanying him was Cassie Svedberg of Grand Forks.

Upon searching the vehicle, police discovered methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia. As a result, Andrew Stenason faces felony charges for possession of a controlled substance within a prohibited zone, possession of a controlled substance, and a misdemeanor charge of driving while impaired with meth. Similarly, Cassie Svedberg is charged with possession of a controlled substance within a prohibited zone and possession of a controlled substance. Notably, Svedberg was already on probation in North Dakota for prior drug-related offenses.

This successful bust underscores the importance of community vigilance and cooperation with law enforcement in combating drug-related crimes.
