Timothy David Knecht was born in Stanley, North Dakota, on September 28, 1965. He was raised in Bismarck and Fargo, North Dakota by Dave and Jane Knecht, along with five sisters and a brother.
While we lost him too soon, Tim filled his 58 years with about as much life as a person can. Some good, some bad, as with all of us, but definitely a full life.
Tim passed on the morning of Friday, June 14, 2024, just after sunrise with friends and family by his side.
For the last 26 years, Tim lived in the Grand Forks, North Dakota, area, working for many years at Ryan Potato. He then retired to hang with his best bud, Paigey. She was the light of his life.
He will be missed, so missed. His smile and laugh. His wonderful Native sense of humor. His fake wince after giving someone crap. Tim is gone but all this, and our stories, will live on in our minds and in our hearts. He was a wonderful, caring man and his person will be missed.
Tim lost his mom and dad (Jane and Dave Knecht), his sister, Kathy and his birth father George Lewis prior to his death. On the Knecht side, he is survived by his sisters Margaret (Scott) Schaar, Jeanne (Duane) Scheffler, Laurie (AJ) Kluver, Chris (Ryan) Church and his brother Jon (Amy) Knecht and many nieces and nephews. On the Lewis side, he is survived by his sister Buffy and her children Myles, Amanda, Tawny, and Layne. And on the Grand Forks family side, he is survived by Margie, Mike, Bree, Gavin and Paige Flanagin who provided him with so much love and support over the years.
His celebration of a full life will be Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 3 p.m. at the Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home in Fargo.
