Three-Vehicle Collision on Highway 60 in Rice County Leaves One Injured

Rice County, MN (trfnews.i234.me)—A three-vehicle collision occurred on Highway 60 and Holland Avenue in Morristown Township on the evening of January 26, 2025, leaving one person injured. The accident happened at approximately 8:56 PM.

According to authorities, a 2011 Ford Escape, a 2020 Toyota Corolla, and a 2014 Dodge RAM 1500 were all involved in the crash. The Ford and Toyota were traveling eastbound on Highway 60, while the Dodge was heading westbound when the vehicles collided.

Driver Details:

  • Makiah Laree Zeiher, 18, of Janesville, MN, was driving the Ford Escape. She was unharmed and reported no injuries. The vehicle’s airbags deployed.
  • Abigail Jolene Merschman, 24, of Bemidji, MN, was driving the Toyota Corolla. She sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Faribault Hospital for treatment.
  • Todd Russell Nelson, 58, of Faribault, MN, was driving the Dodge RAM 1500. He was uninjured.

All drivers were reported to be wearing seatbelts, and alcohol was not involved in the incident. The road conditions were dry at the time of the crash.

Emergency responders from the Rice County Sheriff’s Office, Morristown Fire Department, and North Ambulance provided assistance at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the cause of the collision.
