November 23, 2020, the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a burglary at 20190 140th ST SE in southeastern Pennington County. Upon arriving at the scene, scene, an investigator and a deputy spoke with the complainant who said he was the caretaker of the property for his uncle, who is in a nursing home.

The complainant reported the theft of a Red Massey Ferguson brand tractor model 265 with an Allied brand front end loader and 3-point disk attachment along with an orange Allis Chalmers B tractor with wishbone front suspension and a belly type mower.

During the investigation, it was found that a party from Glyndon, Minnesota had made a deal to trade a camper for the B Allis Chalmers which had been advertised on Facebook under an account registered to Bobbie Jo Sevigny. They also agreed to purchase a 2nd Allis Chalmers for $300 and finalized the deal on November 22nd at Aaseby Trailer Court. In attendance, that afternoon was the party from Glyndon along with Bobbie Jo Sevigny and her husband, Dan Sevigny. The trade was made and the tractor was taken to Gardner, North Dakota. The buyers are cooperating with law enforcement.

Dan and Bobbie Jo Sevigny lived in a trailer located on property owned by Jeremy Tostrup. On December 2nd, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received information that the stolen Massey Ferguson tractor was at the Tostrup residence. Deputies responded and found Tostrup and Dan Sevigny in possession of the tractor and Tostrup admitted it was the stolen tractor.

A search warrant was obtained for Sevigny’s trailer and, during that search, officers noticed a light on in a house on the same property.  A Red Lake County deputy could see a shotgun-in plain view-through a window and saw a shotgun and chainsaw which matched descriptions from the original burglary. A second search warrant was obtained and several shotguns, a chainsaw, and ammunition were seized.

December 2nd, three individuals were arrested in connection with the burglary and charged by an Order of Detention signed in the Pennington District Court.
