THOMPSON, North Dakota (trfnews.i234.me) – Charges have now been filed following the accidental shooting of a 16-year-old girl in Thompson, just south of Grand Forks, on June 16th.
According to court documents, the teen reported she was lying on a bed in an apartment when she was shot in the knee. The suspect, Kenneth Jay Deziel Jr., told police he had been handling a Glock 43X 9mm pistol and tossed it on the bed when it “suddenly went off.”
The teen was transported to a Fargo hospital, where she underwent surgery to remove the bullet.
Deziel is now charged with felony reckless endangerment and misdemeanor marijuana possession. The incident remains under investigation by local authorities.
