Thief River Falls, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – On June 12 at about 12:33 a.m., police received a report of a domestic assault at an apartment in the 300 block of Knight Ave. N. Janier Antonio Rivera, 21, of Thief River Falls, has been charged with felony domestic assault by strangulation and misdemeanor domestic assault – bodily harm. He was arrested at the scene.
According to the complaint, Rivera allegedly got into an argument with his girlfriend after she asked him why he was texting his ex, even though a restraining order was in place. The woman then began packing, and Rivera allegedly hit her, grabbed her by the neck, bit her lip, and pushed her to the floor. The woman said she was unable to breathe and tried to defend herself.
While on the floor, Rivera allegedly hugged the woman in a way that she was unable to move her arms and legs. He also bit her on the hand. An officer observed injuries on the woman’s neck, lip, and right hand. The injuries were photographed as evidence.
