Minneapolis, Hennepin County (trfnews.i234.me)In a disturbing incident on Sunday, May 25, 2025, two 16-year-old boys were shot in Minneapolis’s Phillips neighborhood. The first shooting was reported just before 1 p.m. on the 2700 block of 13th Avenue South, where officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation. Upon arrival, they found a 16-year-old boy with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, who was transported to Hennepin Healthcare for treatment.

Shortly after, authorities were informed that another 16-year-old had arrived at Hennepin Healthcare with life-threatening gunshot wounds, believed to be connected to the same incident.

Police secured the area, canvassed for evidence and witnesses, and processed the scene with the assistance of the Minneapolis Forensic Division. As of Sunday evening, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
