Moorhead, Clay County, MN (trfnews.i234.me) — In the early hours of Monday, May 5, a 16-year-old male was arrested following a shooting incident in the Romkey Park neighborhood of Moorhead. Police responded to reports of multiple gunshots around 12:15 a.m. in the 1000 block of 18½ Street South, near Minnesota State University Moorhead. No injuries were reported, but several spent shell casings were recovered at the scene.
The suspect was apprehended after authorities executed a search warrant at a residence connected to the investigation. He is currently held at the West Central Juvenile Center on preliminary charges of negligent discharge of a firearm within city limits. The Clay County Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
This remains an active investigation, and no further details have been released at this time.
