Clay County, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A Fargo teen is facing two DWI charges in Clay County, Minnesota, after an early morning traffic stop that began in Moorhead and ended in Fargo.
On June 16, 2025, around 2:29 a.m., Moorhead Police Officer Eggert stopped a vehicle near the Minnesota–North Dakota border. The driver was identified as Ayden Vernon Anderson, 18, who admitted to drinking two Smirnoffs and a shot of Fireball. He told the officer he felt “buzzed.”
Anderson showed signs of intoxication, including bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and the odor of alcohol. He failed several field sobriety tests and blew a .102 on a preliminary breath test (PBT).
The teen agreed to return with the officer to Minnesota but later refused to submit to an official breath test at the Clay County Jail, claiming he wasn’t read his Miranda rights before being handcuffed.
He now faces:
-
Count I: 3rd Degree DWI – Test Refusal (Gross Misdemeanor)
-
Count II: 4th Degree DWI – Under Influence (Misdemeanor)
