DETROIT LAKES, MN (trfnews.i234.me) With COVID vaccinations ramping up across the Country, the tourism industry in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota is getting ready to take back Summer!
Neil Berg down here in detroit lakes minnesota on a bright and sunny monday after a long year of covid and now with vaccinations underway across the country bars restaurants and resorts around this tourist based community are hoping to take back summer so how bad was 2020 on your resorts restaurants bars you know one of the beauties is that we have lots of room lots of space wide open spaces pandemic was never easy of course we have an impact and and when you can’t have that indoor seating and enjoy those restaurants and the hotels the same way of course impacted us okay any idea did you lose any bars or restaurants that type of thing um i think we were able to hang on to everyone there was lots of local community support but we they still need a lot more to go okay so you hoping you can take back summer now yes let’s hope so um 2021’s looking good again we’ve got lots of outdoor spaces and places that people can spread out and enjoy and and uh you know do a little social distancing but still be social is there anything in particular planned a different way to do things or try to make sure that you can get people coming here again you know i think we see that people enjoy resorts they enjoy being outdoors so using those patio spaces just uh doing a little social distancing we do have a few events that have pushed a little towards the fall season rather than in the spring so we’re going to see a lot of activity come july august and september the only big question now is when is ice out in detroit lakes minnesota i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
