EAST GRAND FORKS, MN (trfnews.i234.me)- On January 16, 2025, law enforcement responded to a disturbance at a residence in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. The individual involved, identified as Tad Isaac Butcher from Crookston, had departed the scene prior to officers’ arrival. Later, police were called back to the same location for another disturbance involving Butcher. During his arrest, Butcher allegedly resisted and spat on one of the officers. He has been charged with felony assault of a peace officer and gross misdemeanor obstructing the legal process.
Prior Legal Issues
This is not Butcher’s first encounter with the law. In 2019, he was involved in a case where he was arrested and charged with ineligible possession of a firearm.
Additionally, in 2022, Butcher was arrested following a police pursuit that ended in a standoff.
These incidents indicate a pattern of legal challenges for Butcher in recent years.
Current Status
As of January 20, 2025, Butcher remains in custody at the Northwest Regional Corrections Center. He is awaiting further legal proceedings related to the charges stemming from the January 16 incident.
