Swift County, MN (trfnews.i234.me) — On the morning of Saturday, May 24, 2025, at approximately 8:57 a.m., an 89-year-old man from Montevideo sustained life-threatening injuries in a single-vehicle accident on Highway 29 near milepost 34 in Benson Township, Swift County. The incident occurred when his southbound 2015 Chevrolet Silverado veered off the roadway, entered the left ditch, struck an embankment, and vaulted.
The driver, identified as Keith William Hein, was transported to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Hein was wearing a seat belt, and the vehicle’s airbags deployed during the crash. Road conditions were reported as dry at the time of the incident, and alcohol was not a factor.
Emergency response agencies at the scene included the Swift County Sheriff’s Office, Benson Police Department, Benson Fire Department, CentraCare Ambulance, and Lifelink air ambulance.
