FARGO, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – A Fargo man is in custody after a tense standoff that began late Saturday night and ended early Sunday morning. The incident started around 11:21 p.m. when Fargo police received a report of a man physically assaulting two individuals at a home on Mon Carlo Drive. Both victims managed to escape before officers arrived, with one requiring medical attention while the other declined treatment.
The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Frankie Moran, remained inside the home and threatened to shoot officers if they attempted to enter. In response, nearby residents were advised to shelter in place. Despite repeated orders from police, Moran refused to surrender, prompting the Red River Valley SWAT team to be called in. After negotiations failed, SWAT deployed a chemical irritant at approximately 5:15 a.m. on Sunday, successfully forcing Moran out of the home without further incident. He was arrested on two counts of aggravated assault and is currently held at the Cass County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
