FARGO, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – A Fargo man is in custody following a tense standoff that began late Saturday night and ended early Sunday morning. The incident started around 11:21 p.m. when Fargo police received reports of an assault at a home on Mon Carlo Drive. Two adults were physically attacked, but managed to escape before officers arrived. One victim was taken to a local medical facility, while the other declined treatment.
The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Frankie Manuel Moran, remained inside the home and threatened to shoot officers if they attempted to enter. As a precaution, nearby residents were asked to shelter in place. Despite repeated orders from Fargo PD to exit the home, Moran refused to comply. The Red River Valley SWAT team was called in, and after negotiations failed, they used a chemical irritant to force Moran out around 5:15 a.m. He was taken into custody without further incident.
Moran now faces two counts of aggravated assault and is being held at the Cass County Jail. The investigation is ongoing, and no additional information is available at this time.
