Otter Tail County (trfnews.i234.me)A 45-year-old Henning man, Joseph Henry Olson, was arrested early Tuesday morning following a domestic assault incident that led to a brief standoff requiring SWAT intervention.

At approximately 12:45 a.m. on May 20, 2025, the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a domestic assault at a residence in Henning. Upon arrival, deputies found a woman in the driveway with visible injuries; she was treated on the scene by Henning Ambulance personnel.

Olson was inside the residence and initially refused to exit when contacted by deputies via telephone. The Otter Tail County SWAT team was called in to assist. After a short period, Olson voluntarily exited the home and was taken into custody without incident.

He was transported to the Otter Tail County Detention Facility and is facing charges of misdemeanor domestic assault and gross misdemeanor possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
