Hastings, MN (trfnews.i234.me)—Authorities are actively investigating a suspicious death in Hastings, which they believe may be connected to a fire in Denmark Township. Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Hastings Police Department and Washington County Sheriff’s Office, are leading the investigation with assistance from the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), State Fire Marshal division, and the Hastings Fire Department.
Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying any vehicles that may have been stopped in the area between 2 a.m. Saturday and 9:50 a.m. Sunday. The identity of the deceased man remains unconfirmed, and an autopsy by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death.
This case is believed to be tied to a suspicious fire in Denmark Township. On February 1, police responded to the property of William Eickholt at 2:30 a.m. after reports of a fire. Evidence at the scene suggests Eickholt may have been injured, prompting a multi-agency search.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact law enforcement as the investigation remains ongoing. Additional details will be released as they become available.
