Suspected Homicide Investigated at Lakeville Amazon Fulfillment Center

LAKEVILLE, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Detectives are investigating a suspected homicide after a man was found shot to death in the parking lot of the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Lakeville early Saturday morning, June 29.

Police were called shortly after 4 a.m. to the parking lot at 9800 217th Street W. following reports of an altercation, according to the Lakeville Police Department.

Upon arrival, officers found a man with an apparent gunshot wound. Despite lifesaving efforts by first responders, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 24-year-old man was arrested nearby and remains in custody. Investigators believe the altercation was confined to the two men and are working to determine their relationship, what led to the incident, and their connection to the business. A firearm was recovered at the scene.

The Hennepin County medical examiner’s office will release the victim’s name, as well as the cause and manner of death.

This incident follows a previous tragic event in January 2023, when Donte Rapheal McCray fatally shot Kyla Bianca O’Neal, who was nine months pregnant, in the same parking lot. McCray was sentenced to 47 years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of second-degree murder for the deaths of O’Neal and her newborn, Messiah Edward O’Neal.
