MOORHEAD, MN (trfnews.i234.me) A man suspected of killing a man with rat poison in St. Cloud, Minnesota was arrested in Moorhead on this Wednesday. Sturart Hanmer is a suspect in the death of Cody Ernst. Formal charges are pending.
33-year-old Steuart W. Hanmer arrested in Morehead on this Wednesday for the poisoning death of another man in St. Cloud. 33-year-old Cody Ray Ernst. Uh this in from St. Cloud police. This started on June 20th. They were notified that Cody Ray Ernst, a 33year-old male from St. Cloud, had been admitted to the University of Minnesota hospital in critical condition. Medical staff determined that Ernst had extremely high and lethal levels of a heavy metal thallium in his system. Uh, breaking from the news release here, thallium is used in rat poisons. It’s odorless and tasteless. Uh, back to the news released, he was not expected to survive. On June 22nd, Erns died as a result of medical complications directly related to thallium ingestion. Police St. Cloud police immediately in initiated an investigation into the source of the poisoning. The investigation was conducted with the uh assistance of uh many uh different agencies. Through the course of the investigation, evidence uh demonstrated that Ernst roommate at the time of his death, Stuart William Hanmer, a 35-year-old male now living in Morehead, intentionally poisoned Ernst with thallium. Today, September 3rd, Hanmer was arrested in Morehead and is currently being held on the Sterns County at the Sterns County Jail pending formal charges. I’m Bob Curlson reporting for news.tv.
