SUNDAY UPDATE: Potential Blizzard Conditions Expected Later Today

GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) A heavy blanket of snow has fallen around the region and the National Weather Service in Grand Forks says we could see winds over 50 mph later today, causing blizzard conditions.
Neil Berg out here on highway 2 between grand forks and crookston early on a sunday morning if you have travel plans on this sunday they’re likely going to be severely impacted by the weather now as you can see here on highway 2 between grand forks and crookston both lanes have a heavy snow cover and even if those roads are cleared off here later on this morning and today the big problem is this afternoon when some major winds could kick in the national weather service saying total snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches winds gusting as high as 45 to 55 miles per hour this afternoon and this evening national weather service in grand forks saying travel will be slow this morning there may be a lull in activity late this morning before the windy period begins this afternoon near blizzard or blizzard conditions will develop this afternoon and continue into the evening hours travel may be impossible within the red river valley this evening cold wind chills as low as 25 below late tonight could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes and as we look at the radar early on this sunday morning as that big green monster moves across the region and you can see by webcams across the region there’s a covering of white all over the northern tier of uh north dakota and minnesota and uh things could get ugly later this afternoon so plan accordingly i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
