Stutsman Co. Pair Charged in Walmart Theft Case

STUTSMAN COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) – Two people are in jail after police say they stole over 100 items from the Jamestown Walmart in a series of thefts spanning several days.

According to court documents, Jamestown police were called to Walmart just after noon on Thursday, September 25. Store workers had reviewed security camera footage showing a man and woman taking items to the self-checkout but not scanning them. Officers later discovered the suspects hiding near a wooded area close to the store.

The two were identified as Brannon Boudreau and Kaitlyn Vandeanck. Police say both admitted to taking items from Walmart and claimed they planned to pay for them later. Court records indicate the thefts began on September 18.

While the pair estimated the stolen goods to be worth about $400, investigators say the total value added up to $1,107.68 over the course of multiple incidents. Officers recovered more than 100 stolen items linked to the case.

Boudreau and Vandeanck were arrested and booked into the Stutsman County Jail. Both are facing one felony count of Theft of Property. Their preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 15.

The case remains under review. For more on theft charges and penalties in North Dakota, visit the North Dakota Courts and the North Dakota Attorney General’s Office.
