Structural Issues Force Closure of Langdon, ND Church

LANGDON, ND (trfnews.i234.me) Structural problems have closed the Catholic Church in Langdon, North Dakota.
in a recent letter to parishioners of st. Alphonsus church and Langdon pastor father Phil Ackerman explained that the church building is structurally unsafe in his letter Ackerman said we made an application for an insurance claim to the Diocese of Fargo regarding some leaks and a roof and damage to the church earl wilhelm properties manager for the diocese came to the parish to do an inspection he was alarmed at the structural condition in the church attic and said that a structural engineer needed to assess the church building as soon as possible the west end of the building has been gradually sinking over the years however it’s increased substantially during the past five months with damage to the building and possibility that some structural material could fall through the ceiling of the church and land on the church floor the Diocese of Fargo is requested that the church building be vacated it is currently off-limits for Masse’s in any events unfortunately according to Ackerman that means that they’ve had to lock the church doors for safety reasons Ackerman also noted that the church building is not condemned it should also be noted that weakened masses for Saint Alphonsus will be held at school gym until further notice all masses will be held at the regularly scheduled time
