ST. PAUL, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – In response to severe storms that struck on June 16th, FEMA has expanded its disaster declaration to include individual assistance for residents in 19 Minnesota counties. The declaration was made following significant damage assessments documenting extensive destruction to homes and businesses. The counties covered by this declaration are:

- Cook
- Cottonwood
- Faribault
- Freeborn
- Goodhue
- Itasca
- Jackson
- Lake
- Le Sueur
- Lyon
- Mower
- Nicollet
- Nobles
- Rice
- Rock
- St. Louis
- Steele
- Waseca
Governor Tim Walz and Minnesota’s Congressional Delegation requested this aid to support affected residents. FEMA indicates that additional counties may be added if further damage assessments warrant it. Flood victims in these counties are encouraged to apply for assistance through FEMA’s website at disasterassistance.gov.
