Steele Co. Wrong-Way Crash Injures One on Hwy. 14
STEELE COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) – A wrong-way crash on Highway 14 in Havana Township sent one driver to the hospital early Sunday morning.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the collision happened at 1:31 a.m. on September 28, 2025. A Ford Explorer was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes near 84th Avenue when it collided head-on with an eastbound Ram 1500 pickup.
The driver of the Ford Explorer, a 48-year-old woman from Mankato, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Owatonna Hospital. Authorities noted that alcohol was involved. She was wearing a seat belt, and the airbags deployed.
The driver of the Ram 1500, a 34-year-old man from Kasson, and his passenger, a 52-year-old man from Byron, were not injured. Both were wearing seat belts, and airbags deployed in their vehicle as well.
Emergency crews from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Steele County Sheriff’s Office, Owatonna Fire Department, Claremont Fire and EMS, and Mayo Ambulance responded to the crash. Road conditions were reported as dry at the time.
