Fairhaven Township (trfnews.i234.me) – A couple from central Minnesota was seriously injured after their Harley-Davidson motorcycle collided with a deer, sending them crashing to the pavement in Stearns County.

The incident occurred just before 9:50 p.m. on July 3 near County Road 7 and Dellwood Road. According to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, 42-year-old Christopher Brown, of Clear Lake, was heading southbound on a 2009 Harley when a deer darted into the roadway. The motorcycle struck the deer, and Brown lost control, causing both him and his passenger to be thrown from the bike.

His passenger, 45-year-old Char Matthees-Reid of Clearwater, was also injured. Both were transported to St. Cloud Hospital, but no condition updates have been released.

The crash response included Wright County deputies, South Haven Fire/Rescue, and Mayo Ambulance. Officials are still investigating whether speed or other factors played a role.
