St. Louis County (trfnews.i234.me)— Authorities are intensifying their search for Richard James Gibson, a 59-year-old convicted sex offender, who has been declared a wanted fugitive as of March 26, 2025. Gibson, born on September 28, 1965, is sought for crimes against the administration of justice, linked to court file number 69HI-CR-17-909 in St. Louis County.

Gibson’s criminal history includes a conviction for second-degree criminal sexual conduct on September 22, 1997, resulting in a 64-month prison sentence. This conviction mandated his registration as a predatory offender for ten years post-release. In 2017, he relocated to the 4400 block of Stuntz Road in Hibbing, Minnesota, prompting local law enforcement to notify the community about his presence.

Gibson’s current fugitive status raises significant concerns for public safety. The Minnesota Department of Corrections urges anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact their 24-hour tip line at 651-603-0026 or reach out to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
