St. Louis County Scare: Mother and Child Injured After Slamming Guardrails on Icy Hwy 169 in Hibbing

Hibbing, St. Louis County (trfnews.i234.me) — A mother and her 4-year-old child were injured late Sunday morning after their vehicle spun out of control on an icy stretch of Highway 169, striking both guardrails before coming to a stop.

🚗 The crash occurred at mile marker 343, just outside Hibbing, at approximately 11:01 a.m. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the 2015 Chrysler 200 was traveling northbound when the driver lost control due to snowy and icy road conditions.

👩‍👦 The driver, 27-year-old Brandie Nicole Ellison, and her passenger, 4-year-old Cody Micah Weber, were both transported to Hibbing Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities confirmed that both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Fortunately, no other vehicles were involved in this crash, and the road was cleared shortly after.
