Hibbing, St. Louis County (trfnews.i234.me) — A mother and her 4-year-old child were injured late Sunday morning after their vehicle spun out of control on an icy stretch of Highway 169, striking both guardrails before coming to a stop.
The crash occurred at mile marker 343, just outside Hibbing, at approximately 11:01 a.m. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the 2015 Chrysler 200 was traveling northbound when the driver lost control due to snowy and icy road conditions.
The driver, 27-year-old Brandie Nicole Ellison, and her passenger, 4-year-old Cody Micah Weber, were both transported to Hibbing Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities confirmed that both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
