Mountain Iron, St. Louis County (trfnews.i234.me) – A serious two-vehicle crash involving multiple family members and children occurred Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 169 and Campground Road.

Authorities say a Mitsubishi Outlander, driven by 42-year-old Rebekah Ellen Tweten of Kinney, was turning south onto Campground Road from southbound Highway 169 when a northbound Jeep Wrangler collided with the SUV. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage.

Inside the Outlander were two passengers, 11-year-old Alissa Fay Tweten and 14-year-old Joshua Patrick Tweten, both of Kinney. Rebekah and Joshua suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The Jeep was driven by 26-year-old Desira Marie Fagan of Hibbing. She and her passenger, 44-year-old Mason Dean Arneson, also from Hibbing, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Essentia Health Virginia. Two child passengers, ages 7 and 4, were uninjured.

Everyone involved was wearing seat belts except for the 7-year-old child. No alcohol was involved. Responding agencies included the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, Virginia Fire, Cook EMS, and Essentia EMS.
