St. Louis County (trfnews.i234.me) – Multiple Iron Range fire departments responded to a large house fire in Eveleth, Minnesota, late Wednesday night.

The fire was reported at approximately 10:10 p.m. in the 600 block of Harrison Street. Responding crews found heavy smoke and visible flames coming from a two-story home. The property suffered extensive damage.

Three dogs were found dead inside the home. No human injuries were reported.

Firefighters from several nearby communities assisted in containing the blaze. Crews worked in challenging conditions as flames spread through multiple parts of the structure.

Authorities say the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Officials have not released a damage estimate. The Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office has been contacted to assist with the investigation.

This incident highlights the dangers of fast-moving residential fires. According to the U.S. Fire Administration, pets are often at risk during such emergencies, and officials urge residents to have evacuation plans in place for both people and animals. More fire safety tips can be found at the National Fire Protection Association.

Fire crews remained on scene for several hours to ensure all hot spots were extinguished and to secure the property. Residents in the area reported seeing thick smoke from several blocks away.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the fire to contact local law enforcement or the fire marshal’s office. Updates will be released as the investigation continues.
