St. Louis County (trfnews.i234.me) — A collision at a busy Hibbing intersection sent three people to the hospital on March 19, 2025, following a crash involving a 2015 Ford Expedition and a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado pickup.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash occurred at 12:24 p.m. when the Chevy Silverado, driven by Mitch Carter Leseman, age 19, of Hibbing, pulled out in front of the southbound Ford Expedition, driven by Bethel Byrne Blocker, age 71, of Babbitt, MN, on Highway 73 from Highway 169.
The resulting impact sent all involved to UMCM Hibbing with non-life-threatening injuries, including passenger Tatym Lynne Witman, age 24, of Hibbing.
The road was dry at the time of the incident. The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene. Alcohol involvement for the Silverado driver is still under investigation.
