St. Louis County (trfnews.i234.me) — David Allen Maki, born October 2, 1970, has been declared a wanted fugitive by the Minnesota Department of Corrections as of March 17, 2025.

Maki, convicted of multiple DWI offenses, has open cases in both St. Louis County (69HI-CR-19-184) and Koochiching County (36-CR-21-197). He was sentenced on May 27, 2021, but has now violated his release conditions after being released on December 6, 2023.

DOC Agent Corey Reed is leading the search, and Maki is now the subject of a statewide fugitive alert.

Authorities are urging anyone with information on Maki’s whereabouts to contact law enforcement immediately.

  • Repeat DWI convictions in Minnesota can lead to felony-level charges and lengthy prison sentences.

  • St. Louis and Koochiching Counties both border Canada, making fugitive searches in these regions particularly challenging.

  • The DOC prioritizes repeat DWI offenders for community safety due to their high recidivism risk.
