St. Cloud, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me)—On May 9, 2025, a domestic disturbance escalated into violence when Kyeon Royale Hill, 46, stabbed Officer Virgilia Schreiner in the arm with a pocketknife. In response, Schreiner fired her service weapon once, striking Hill in the shoulder. Both individuals sustained injuries and were treated at CentraCare-St. Cloud Hospital.
The incident began when officers responded to a 911 call reporting that Hill had threatened a woman he had previously had a relationship. Upon arrival, officers found Hill in a vehicle and attempted to arrest him. Hill exited the vehicle with a knife, refused commands to drop it, and stabbed Schreiner. Officer Cade Gauerke then deployed his Taser, allowing officers to take Hill into custody.
Hill has been charged with first-degree assault against a peace officer and domestic assault. He admitted to attacking the officer and stated that police had “every right” to shoot him. Both officers involved have three years of law enforcement experience and are on critical incident leave.
