For northwest Minnesota, it should arrive in the early evening. This initial precipitation looks to continue through Thursday morning. North of the highway 200 corridor (north of Cooperstown ND to Mahnomen MN) this should mainly be snow, while to the south it may be mixed precipitation. Between the highway 200 corridor and the Canadian border, an inch or two of snow is expected, with a localized band of slightly higher amounts possible. The west edge of a storm system may bring snow to areas of northwest and west central Minnesota and far southeastern North Dakota Thursday into early Friday. In addition, gusty north to northwest winds are anticipated for Wednesday night through Friday night. This may result in more blowing and drifting snow, icy roads, and lower visibilities in open country. If you have travel plans for Wednesday through Friday, stay tuned for later updates.
