For northwest Minnesota, it should arrive in the early evening. This initial precipitation looks to continue through Thursday morning. Mainly snow is expected north of Highway 200, while areas of isolated mixed precipitation is possible south of Highway 200. Any area that sees mixed precipitation could see up to a glaze of ice on untreated surfaces. Between the Highway 2 corridor and the Canadian border, one to three inches of snow is expected, with a localized band of up to 5 inches possible. The west edge of a storm system may bring snow to areas of northwest and west central Minnesota and far southeastern North Dakota Thursday into early Friday. In addition, gusty north to northwest winds are anticipated for Thursday morning through Saturday morning. This may result in more blowing and drifting snow, icy roads, and lower visibilities in open country. If you have travel plans for today through Saturday, stay tuned for later updates.
