STARK COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — A South Heart man has died following a late-night rollover crash in rural Stark County, North Dakota.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 11:03 p.m. Mountain Time on October 30, 2025, near the intersection of 48th Street SW and 122nd Avenue SW.

A passerby discovered the wrecked vehicle, a 2002 Ford F-150, in a ditch and alerted authorities. A preliminary investigation determined that the pickup was traveling north on 122nd Avenue SW at an unknown speed when the driver lost control. The truck left the roadway and rolled over.

The driver, identified as Jason Bird, 44, of South Heart, was not wearing a seat belt and suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The exact time of the crash remains unknown.

Agencies responding to the scene included the Stark County Sheriff’s Office, Dickinson Ambulance, and the Dickinson Rural Fire Department. Road and weather conditions were reported to be good at the time of the crash.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
