Winona, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me) — A shooting near the campus of Winona State University has sent shockwaves through the community. A 35-year-old man was airlifted to a hospital in Wisconsin after being shot in the chest, leaving him in critical condition.

According to investigators, an argument between the victim and 27-year-old Cole Cameron, of Winona, escalated into violence. Police were called early yesterday morning after a gunshot was reported on the 300 block of West 10th Street.

Cameron was arrested for first-degree assault and booked into the Winona County Jail. The investigation is ongoing, but authorities have confirmed that the two individuals involved in the argument knew each other.
